BENGALURU: An electrician has been arrested on charges of secretly recording a woman while she was bathing her eight-year-old daughter in their house in Whitefield.Haji Moinuddin, 24, is a native of Kerala and a resident of Channasandra. He had been living in Bengaluru for the past four years.The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. The homemaker noticed a mobile phone positioned in the window frame of her bathroom while she was bathing her daughter. As she shouted, the miscreant withdrew the device and escaped.It was later discovered that he had scaled the compound wall of their independent house.Investigating officers collected CCTV footage from the vicinity. “One of the videos captured a man walking towards the complainant’s house and running away a short while later. We extracted a still image and launched a manhunt. Two days later, we traced and arrested him on Friday,” a senior officer said and added: “During interrogation, he confessed to the crime.”Though no objectionable videos were found on Moinuddin’s phone, police suspect he may have deleted them. “We have sent the phone to the Forensic Science Laboratory to retrieve any deleted content, as we believe he may have recorded similar videos earlier as well,” the officer added.
