Coming October is loaded with all the festivals in line beginning with Navratri, Dusshera and finally ending with Diwali. Festivals is the time to enjoy with family/friends, savour some good food and revel in some shopping.
Festive Shopping is incomplete without Home Decor items and with so much on the shopping list you obviously look for some stuff which looks great and fits your pocket. So, I did some research for myself which I am sharing today. These products are Under Rs 500 and can be reused for a longer duration.
Let’s Begin…
Toran/Banderwal/Vanderwal –
The most brought item during Diwali. Hanging a toran at your entrance is considered to be a good sign to welcome Goddess Lakshmi and looks beautiful.
There are a lot of options available with beads, with artificial flowers, metal ones, etc. The range starts from Rs 250 on most of the online shopping sites. These can be reused on festive occasions. Sharing some of my picks.
My personal choice is the metal one as its something new and looks great.

Rangoli –
It’s considered auspicious to draw Rangoli on festive occasions. It’s said to transmit positive energies and the vibrancy of the different colours also adds to the positivity. Its a welcoming sign for the Gods and your guests.
Chose some acrylic ones like –
or buy stickers like –
or draw your own with some tools
metal ones are also available –
My personal choice would be to draw and I am buying some tools as shared above. Also planning to invest in the metal rangoli as it can be reused and kept inside the home. Colours can be brought easily from local shops which would be cost-effective.
Shubh Labh –
Shubh means ‘goodness’ and Labh means ‘benefit’ and Swastik is a representation of Lord Ganesha – God of new beginnings, generally a combination of this is put on the entrance of the house or temple.
My picks –
You can also buy stickers from local shops which would be cost-effective. Again, my choice is the metal one.
Diyas –
Diya has a huge significance, the oil represents the negative human aspects like greed, hate, lust, jealousy while the cotton wick represents the soul. While lighting a diya it is believed that one gets rid of selfish and materialist thoughts. It frees one from sadness and brings one to the path of enlightenment. Its a symbol of purity, goodness, good luck and power. Every day is incomplete without lighting a Diya and if its the question of “Diwali” its totally incomplete.
There are the whole bundle of options, but buy clay diyas from local vendors they are the best and cheapest.
Electric Lights –
Electric Lights have become an integral part of our decor. You have yellow, white or multiple colour lights options.
Few options –
These are a few options to suit everyone pockets. You would be spoilt for choices online or offline.
If you are an online shopper then do check out the following shopping festivals on leading sites from 29th September to 4th October.
