Enforcement arrangements
As many as 166 points across the city are identified for a special drive against drunk driving. Ninety-two locations are identified and closely monitored to prevent wheeling, stunt riding, and rash driving. Fifty flyovers are closed during the night hours to regulate traffic flow and prevent speeding. Ten drones, 249 Cobra vehicles, and 400 traffic wardens will be used to ensure safe and orderly New Year celebrations.
The action against drunk drivers will be carried out throughout the night, and all measures will be taken to avoid untoward incidents, including by setting up roadblocks at various places in the city.
New Year revellers who consume alcohol must ensure that those driving their vehicles are not drunk so that they, as well as other road users, reach home safely. Strict action will be taken against motorcyclists who drive at high speed and recklessly, participate in wheeling and drag races, and cause inconvenience to the public. Such incidents should be reported to the police helpline (112).
Other rules
From 11 pm on December 31 to 6 am on January 1, 2026, all types of vehicles are prohibited on all the overbridges of the city (except the flyover leading to Kempegowda International Airport) to prevent accidents.
