A 10-foot-tall, 500-kg idol crafted with gold, silver, diamonds and precious stones has reached Ayodhya ahead of Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha’s second anniversary celebrations.
A grand idol of Lord Ram, valued at an estimated ₹25–30 crore, has been donated by an anonymous devotee from Karnataka for installation within the Ayodhya Ram Temple complex. The idol, made using gold, silver, diamonds and other precious stones, reflects the refined craftsmanship of South Indian sculptural traditions.
Standing 10 feet tall and 8 feet wide, the idol weighs nearly 500 kilograms (5 quintals). Experts involved in its examination have identified the precise metals and gemstones used, including diamonds, emeralds, sapphires and gold, highlighting its artistic and material richness.

The idol was brought to Ayodhya on Tuesday evening. It is likely to be unveiled during the second anniversary of Ram Lalla’s Pran Pratishtha, scheduled between December 29 and January 2. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is currently verifying all technical and ceremonial details related to the idol before its formal installation.
There is a strong possibility that the idol will be placed at Angad Teela, near the Sant Tulsidas Temple within the temple premises. The unveiling will be followed by a Mahamastakabhisheka ceremony, with participation from saints and seers from across the country.
Skilled artisans from Thanjavur played a key role in crafting the idol, combining traditional techniques with intricate gemstone embedding, giving the sculpture both spiritual and artistic grandeur.
