The web series JUST US is set to be released for the New Year. This marks the first web series directed by P. C. Shekhar, who has previously directed several Kannada feature films. The eight-episode web series is titled JUST US. The first episode will premiere on January 1, marking the beginning of the New Year.
Speaking about the project, director P. C. Shekhar said that after directing films for several years, this is his first experience directing a web series. Newcomers Vivek and Megha Jadhav play the lead roles in JUST US. He said the series is based on a different concept. He explained that there are defined paths and training for professions such as engineering, medicine, or even driving, but when it comes to marriage, many people are unsure what to discuss when families ask a boy and girl to meet and talk. To explore this subject, he said he interacted with psychiatrists and marriage counsellors, gathered inputs, and attempted to present those aspects through this web series. This forms the core storyline. He added that the series will also include sentimental scenes.
The cinematography is handled by Murali Krish, who earlier worked as a cinematographer for the films Nayaka and Terrorist. The web series includes one song, composed by S. Pradeep Varma. Lyrics are written by Nagasimha Bharadwaj, and the song is sung by Shravanthi. The title song is designed in the style of an MTV album song and attempts to convey what the web series contains. The song is scheduled for release on December 22. The director stated that the eight-episode series is made keeping today’s youth in mind, with entertainment as the main focus. He said the series will be available from the first day of the New Year and sought audience support.
Actor Vivek said that he is from Mysore and has a background in theatre. He has learned acting through stage performances and has also acted in television serials. He stated that acting in JUST US, which has a different storyline and is directed by P. C. Shekhar, has been a positive experience for him.
Actress Megha Jadhav said that she is a software engineer working in the IT sector and that acting is her hobby. She has worked as a dubbing artist for several television serials and films. She also mentioned that she played a small role in the film Mahaan, directed by P. C. Shekhar, which led to the opportunity to act in the JUST US web series. She said she is happy to be part of the project.
