As the Renukaswamy murder case trial formally begins in Bengaluru, prime accused Pavitra Gowda spends a tense night inside Parappana Agrahara jail, anxious over witness examination, while the court summons key witnesses, including the victim’s parents.
Bengaluru saw a crucial legal moment with the formal commencement of the trial in the Renukaswamy murder case, a development that has intensified pressure on all accused. However, the spotlight remains firmly on Pavitra Gowda, the A1 accused in the murder case, who is currently lodged in the women’s barrack of Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.
Sources indicate that the start of the trial has triggered visible anxiety for Pavitra Gowda inside the jail. She reportedly spent the entire night without sleep, staying awake and withdrawn as the case entered a decisive phase. Fellow inmates noted that Pavitra largely kept to herself, avoided conversations, and remained silent, reflecting the mental strain ahead of the court proceedings.
Pavitra Gowda, who had earlier come out on bail and is now back in jail for the second time, is facing what is being described as another major test in the case. With the examination of witnesses set to begin, she is said to be under stress over the statements of witnesses and their possible impact on the trial.
Early in the morning, Pavitra reportedly took a bath, offered prayers to a photograph of God, and sat quietly in front of it, choosing solitude over interaction. Jail sources say she continued to remain isolated, not engaging with co-prisoners and spending time in silence.
Meanwhile, the legal proceedings in court are also gaining momentum. The 57th Additional City Civil and Sessions Court (CCH-57) had earlier issued notices to Renukaswamy’s parents, directing them to appear for the trial. Acting on the notice, Kashinathayya and Ratnaprabha, residents of VRS Nagar in Chitradurga, travelled to Bengaluru to attend the hearing.

Both parents are key prosecution witnesses. Renukaswamy’s father Kashinathayya has been listed as the seventh main witness, while his mother Ratnaprabha is the eighth key witness in the case. Their testimony is expected to play a critical role as the trial progresses.
With the examination of crucial witnesses beginning, legal pressure has intensified not only on Pavitra Gowda but also on actor Darshan and the other accused. The proceedings are being closely monitored, as the developments in the coming days could significantly influence the direction of this high-profile murder case.
