The trial in the Renukaswamy murder case has officially commenced in Bengaluru, with the court summoning the victim’s parents as key witnesses, marking a crucial phase that could intensify legal trouble for accused actor Darshan and others.
Bengaluru witnessed a major legal development on Tuesday as the trial in the Renukaswamy murder case formally began in court. The proceedings are expected to take a decisive turn today, raising fresh concerns for the accused actor Darshan and the others named in the case.

The 57th Additional City Civil and Sessions Court (CCH-57) had earlier issued notices directing Renukaswamy’s parents to be present for the hearing. In compliance with the court’s order, Renukaswamy’s father Kashinathayya and mother Ratnaprabha left their residence at VRS Nagar in Chitradurga and travelled to Bengaluru.
Before appearing before the court, the parents are scheduled to visit a temple and offer prayers. After completing the religious rituals, they will proceed directly to the court to participate in the trial.

Both parents are crucial to the prosecution’s case. Renukaswamy’s father Kashinathayya has been listed as the seventh main prosecution witness, while his mother Ratnaprabha is the eighth key witness. Their testimonies are expected to play a significant role as the trial progresses.
With the examination of key witnesses set to begin, the legal pressure on Darshan and the other accused has intensified once again. The court proceedings today are being closely watched, as they could shape the next course of action in this high-profile case.
