The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested another key accused linked to the Delhi car blast perpetrated by Dr Umar un Nabi and other terrorists associated with the JeM-linked white collar terror module. The development transpired on 9th December. “Dr Bilal Naseer Malla of Baramulla (J&K) is the 8th accused to be arrested in the case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI. He was nabbed by an NIA team from Delhi,” the official statement conveyed.

The NIA discovered that Dr Bilal was part of the plot behind the terrorist attack in the Red Fort area that left a dozen people dead and numerous others injured. According to NIA findings, Bilal had given Umar Un Nabi logistical help and intentionally harboured him. He is also charged with destroying evidence related to the suicide bombing. “NIA is continuing with its investigation into the conspiracy behind the deadly terror act. The anti-terror agency is working closely with various central and state agencies to unravel all the threads of the conspiracy,” the agency added.
After appearing before Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna’s designated court in Delhi, Bilal was handed over to NIA custody for a period of seven days. Amir Rashid Ali, another accused in the case who was presented alongside Bilal, also had his NIA custody extended by seven days during the hearing.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police, together with their counterparts in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, busted the white collar terror network involving Kashmiri doctors and India head of JeM’s women wing, among others. The probe also led to Al Falah University in Faridabad and the discovery of 2,900 kg of explosives.
