The premiere of the short film “First Salary,” directed by Pavan Venkatesh and produced by Sudheendra Venkatesh under the banner of Sriraghavendra Chitravani, was held recently. Actress Shruti, senior producer Rockline Venkatesh, and mentor Kamalakar were among the prominent attendees.
During the event, Rockline Venkatesh stated that D.V. Sudheendra is close to him and noted that PR Officer Venkatesh’s son, Pavan Venkatesh, has entered the film industry by directing the short film. He said the short film has been made well and wished Pavan good opportunities in Kannada cinema.
Actress Shruti recalled acting in D.V. Sudheendra’s production “Nagunnaguta Nali.” She said Pavan Venkatesh’s short film included mother–son sentimental sequences that were very touching and mentioned that her own first salary was five hundred rupees.
Producer Sudheendra Venkatesh said his uncle D.V. Sudheendra had earlier produced six films in partnership. He added that this is his first time producing a short film and that he supported his son Pavan and his friends when they expressed interest in making it. He thanked Rockline Venkatesh, actress Shruti, their mentor, and the media for attending and encouraging the team.

Director Pavan Venkatesh stated that “First Salary” is based on a story written by his friend Vijay Shivakumar, who also plays the lead role. The cast includes Harini Srikanth, Yatiraj, Trishul, Snehashree, and Rakshith. Music is composed by Vijay Harits, with cinematography and editing by Richard Daniel. Manoj Kumar and Ravi Sasanur worked as associate directors. Pavan said that his dream of becoming a director was fulfilled through his father’s support in producing the short film. He thanked all the dignitaries and media representatives who attended.
Story writer and actor Vijay Shivakumar said the story was inspired by incidents he personally witnessed. He noted that Pavan Venkatesh decided to direct the film after hearing the story and that the project was produced by Sudheendra Venkatesh. He expressed hope for support for their first attempt.
Actors Harini Srikanth, Yatiraj, Trishul, associate directors Manoj Kumar and Ravi Sasanur, and music director Vijay Harits also spoke about the film. Producer Suresh was present at the event.
