A 30-year-old student from Haryana, Vijay Kumar Sheoran, was stabbed to death in Worcester, United Kingdom, on 25th November. West Mercia Police found him with serious injuries on Barbourne Road and rushed him to the hospital, but he passed away the same day.

According to a statement issued by West Mercia Police, Vijay Kumar was found with life-threatening injuries on Barbourne Road in Worcester at around 4.15am by police officers. He was taken to hospital in a critical condition, but he could not be saved.
Vijay came from Jagrambas village in Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana. Reports say he left a government job at the Central Board of Excise and Customs earlier this year to study at the University of the West of England(UWE) in Bristol.
The police arrested five men aged 22 to 35 on suspicion of murder, but released them on bail as the investigation goes on. A sixth man was also arrested for murder suspicion, but was let go with no further action. Sheoran’s family said that although UK police have not made any disclosure regarding the case, they suspect that the attackers are from Punjab and Haryana residing in UK.
West Mercia Police has launched an intensve investigation and collecting CCTV footage from the area along with other evidece. The police have issued an appeal on its website asking for information about the murder, and stated that officers will remain on Barbourne Road over the weekend to continue the probe.
The family has appealed Minister of External Affairs to issue directions to the Indian High Commission in UK to help them in the matter, including the repatriation of the mortal remains and issuance of neccessary documents. Vijay Kumar’s brother Ravi Kumar has written a letter to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar with the requests. He also appealed to Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Chief Minister Nayab Saini for intervention so that his brother’s body can be brought back home.
Charkhi Dadri MLA Sunil Satpal Sangwan shared his deep shock on social media X, calling it a brutal stabbing, and urged the central government to repatriate the mortal remains intervene immediately. He pushed for urgent support to the family, a fair and fast probe, and justice for those responsible, while offering his full backing during their grief.

West Mercia Police are still gathering evidence and talking to witnesses to figure out what happened. They stressed the case is urgent and will keep pushing until justice is served. Some reports mention the attackers might be from Haryana and Punjab, but police have not confirmed details yet.
