In Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district, the police shot dead a history-sheeter cow smuggler named Haseen on 9th October 2025.The police acted on the information that Haseen, carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 was involved in cow slaughter. The neutralised criminal had over two dozen cases against him in Hapur, Muzaffarnagar, Sambhal, Amroha, and Gautam Buddh Nagar districts for serious crimes including cow slaughter, attempt to murder, Gangster Act, etc.
On Sunday, when the police attempted to arrest him, the criminal opened fire and in self-defence, the police fired back. The police recovered an illegal pistol, live and empty cartridges, and a Swift Dzire car from the spot. The matter pertains to the Kapurpur Police Station precinct.
During a media interaction, Superintendent of Police (SP) Gyananjay Singh said during checking by Kapurpur Police Station police, an encounter took place with cow smuggler criminal, in which a history-sheeter carrying reward worth Rs 50,000 was neutralized in retaliatory firing in self-defence.

“On the night of 09/10.11.2025, information was received on Dial 112 that cow smuggler criminal is on the lookout to collect and transport prohibited animals for the purpose of cow slaughter, upon which Kapoorpur police immediately reached the spot and cordoned off the criminals, at that time the car-riding criminal, seeing himself surrounded, fired at the police party with intent to kill, in self-defense retaliatory action the criminal was injured by a bullet, who was sent to CSC Dhaulana for treatment, from where he was referred to a higher center, where doctors declared the criminal dead, and from the spot one illegal pistol along with live and empty cartridges and one Swift Dzire car were recovered, and further legal action is being taken,” the police said.
Giving details of the neutralised cow smuggler’s criminal record, the police said, “The identity of the deceased criminal has been established as Haseen son of Ikraar, resident of village Mainauta, Asamoli Police Station, Sambhal District, who was a history-sheeter criminal of Asamoli Police Station, Sambhal District, and criminal Haseen was wanted in Case Crime No. 144/25 under Sections 3/5/8 of the Cow Slaughter Prevention Act at Kapoorpur Police Station, Hapur District, on whose arrest a reward of 50,000/- rupees was declared.”
