The 64th CCH Court in Bengaluru has postponed the Renukaswamy murder case hearing to November 19 after defence lawyers sought more time to study over 5,000 pages of case documents.
The Renukaswamy murder case, involving actor Darshan, actress Pavithra Gowda, and several others, came up for hearing today at Bengaluru’s 64th CCH Court. The proceedings, however, were postponed to November 19 after the defence team requested additional time to prepare for the trial.
During the last hearing, the court had formally framed charges against all accused in connection with the alleged murder of Renukaswamy from Chitradurga. The court was scheduled to issue notices to witnesses and begin examination today.

However, when the session began, defence lawyers representing the accused submitted a plea seeking 15 more days to study the 5,000 pages of case documents. They argued that the volume of evidence required sufficient time for review before they could begin presenting their case effectively in court.
Accepting the request, the court agreed to grant time for preparation and deferred the hearing to November 19.
Earlier, public prosecutor Prasanna Kumar had accused the defence of deliberately delaying the proceedings, reminding the court that the Supreme Court had directed the trial to be completed within six months. Despite that, the trial has not yet begun as the framing of charges was completed only last week.

The court has now instructed that witness notices be served and all parties be ready for the next stage of proceedings in the coming session. The focus will now shift to starting witness examination once the defence completes its document review.
