Actor Darshan’s request for a bed, pillow, and blanket while in judicial custody will be decided today by the Bengaluru Sessions Court after detailed arguments from both sides.
The Bengaluru Sessions Court is set to deliver its order today on actor Darshan’s plea seeking basic amenities such as a bed, pillow, and blanket during his judicial custody. The application was filed by the actor’s counsel citing the lack of minimum facilities in the prison cell.

During the hearing, Darshan’s legal team argued that the Supreme Court has earlier directed that undertrials should be provided minimum facilities while in custody. His counsel also claimed that the jail manual does not explicitly prohibit providing such basic amenities and accused the jail authorities of misleading the Legal Services Authority officials by giving incorrect information.
The Legal Services Authority had submitted a report regarding the availability of basic facilities in the jail, based on which arguments were presented in court. Both Darshan’s counsel and the government’s advocate, Additional Special Public Prosecutor Sachin, made their submissions.
Defending the authorities, Sachin argued that the Legal Services Authority gathered inputs from both the prison staff and the accused before preparing the report and that the process was fair and transparent.
After hearing the arguments from both sides, the 57th CCH Sessions Court reserved its verdict and is expected to issue its order today.
