In recent times, especially in urban areas, live-in relationships have been increasing — particularly among people who have moved from other places. In big cities like Bengaluru, such relationships are common among employees working in IT and BT companies. When a young man and woman of marriageable age live together without getting married, it is referred to as a live-in relationship.
During the COVID lockdown, a film titled ‘Premeegala Gamanakke’ (Attention Lovers) revolves around the story of two lovers living together in such a relationship. Under the banner of Citadel Films and Joyita Entertainments, Subbu and Yakkanti Rajashekar Reddy have jointly produced this film.
The trailer launch event of the film, which is set for release later this month, was held recently. Bigg Boss fame Shashi plays the lead role, and Chirashree — who has already acted in Kannada and Tulu films — plays the female lead. Producer Subbu has played a small negative role in the film.
Vincent Inbaraj has written the story and screenplay and directed the film. Arul Selvan has handled the cinematography, and Dennis Vallabhan has composed the music. Krishna has worked as the associate director.
During the pandemic, when the entire country was in lockdown and no one could go out, all IT and BT companies in Bengaluru allowed their employees to work from home. Similarly, the hero and heroine in the film, who work in the same company, begin living together in the same house. What happens inside that house? How does a stranger enter their home? How does he trouble them? How do they face the situation? — This is the concept of Premeegala Gamanakke.
The story of the film is inspired by a real incident that took place in Tamil Nadu five years ago. The entire story unfolds in a single house, centered on two characters, with a third character appearing only in a few scenes. The film aims to create awareness along with entertainment. Most of the shooting was done in a house in North Bengaluru, said director Vincent Inbaraj during the press meet. Vicent is specialized in nearly 40 short films direction and also worked in a few Tamil films.

Producer Subbu said, “I am basically a builder. When the director narrated the story, I really liked the concept and decided to produce it. Along with producing, I have also acted as the villain in this film. We plan to release the film by the end of this month.”
Co-producer Yakkanti Rajashekar Reddy added, “This is a nice concept. I strongly believe good teamwork will bring out a quality film.”
Lead actor Shashi said, “This is my third film after Sugar Factory and Mehabooba Kannada films. The story will connect well with today’s youth.” Asked on the conditions for live in relationship he said this is what you have to watch it on the silver screen. Meanwhile the Tamil version of the film is also releasing soon says Shashi.
Lead actress Chirashree said, “I play the role of Darshini, who works in an IT company. This is my 10th film, including Kannada and Tulu.”
Distributor Navarathna Prasad was also present on stage during the event said he is releasing on 17th of October in 70 plus theaters.
