Actor Chikkanna is set to play the lead role in a new film titled Jodettu. The project is produced by Somashekar (Kattigenahalli) under the Akash Enterprises banner and directed by S. Mahesh Kumar. The film’s muhurtha was held in a grand manner. Director-producer R. Chandru switched on the camera, while Sandalwood ‘Adhyaksha’ Sharan gave the clap and released the title teaser, extending his wishes to the team. Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda also attended the event.
The title teaser, featuring Chikkanna and Telugu actor Sunil, has been released on the D Beats YouTube channel. The film will be made in Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu, with actors from each language participating. Speaking at the launch, Sharan said the teaser itself reflects the scale of the project and wished the team success.

Actor Chikkanna stated that the story is set in the 1980s and revolves around the theme of who the real ‘Jodettu’ is, which will be revealed later. He described it as the biggest budget film of his career, beginning and ending in a village backdrop, with family sentiment, comedy, and action elements. Shooting will begin in November. He also mentioned that the title originally belonged to Ramamurthy, who later gave it to the team.
Director Mahesh Kumar said that Chikkanna’s role and look in the film will be different, with a strong storyline presented in a desi style. Coming from Mandya, he added that he intends to capture the regional flavor in the film.
Producer Somashekar said this is the third production under the Akash Enterprises banner and will be made on a bigger scale than the previous projects, with no budget constraints. Writer Mahesh Dev has scripted the story, and the team plans to present it more effectively on screen.
The technical team includes V. Harikrishna, who will compose five songs with mass and class appeal, Sudhakar S. Raj as the cinematographer, Masti, Rajashekhar, and Raghu Niduvalli writing the dialogues, and Mohan B. Kere handling art direction.
