The book ‘Saalugala Naduve’ written by actor Aniruddha Jatakar was released at an event held at Dr. Vishnuvardhan’s residence “Valmiki” in Jayanagar. Veteran actress and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Bharathi Vishnuvardhan unveiled the book. Writer Jogi and publisher Jameel Savanna were also present. After the release, the guests and the author addressed the gathering.
Speaking on the occasion, Aniruddha Jatakar said, “I dedicate my book ‘Saalugala Naduve’ to Karnataka Ratna Dr. Vishnuvardhan. I began writing in 2008. While acting in director M.S. Sathyu’s film Ijjodu, I felt that one of the dialogues could be expressed differently. I shared it with Sathyu sir, and he approved my version. Later, I wrote and directed six short films. I also scripted a documentary on Bharathi Amma, which won me a National Award. Afterwards, I wrote articles for leading Kannada and English newspapers. My mother suggested compiling them into a book. Along with those articles, I added a few new ones. That collection of forty essays has now come out as ‘Saalugala Naduve’. I thank Bharathi Amma, Jogi, publisher Jameel Savanna, and especially my parents for their support.”

Highlighting the family’s literary background, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan remarked, “Aniruddha comes from a family of writers, with both his father and mother known for their work. If my husband Vishnuvardhan had seen this book today, he would have been very happy. Even now, he is surely blessing from somewhere.”
Writer Jogi shared his memories, saying, “As a film journalist, I often visited this house to interview Vishnuvardhan and spent many hours with him. Those memories came back today. I have known Aniruddha for twenty-five years. He and his sister Arundhati have acted in many plays and serials. Now Aniruddha has authored ‘Saalugala Naduve’. I have read the book, and some essays felt very close to the heart.”
Publisher Jameel Savanna also spoke about the book on the occasion.
