Karnataka Deputy CM visits Bodh Gaya’s Mahabodhi Temple, calling it a moment of deep spiritual fulfilment under the sacred Bodhi tree.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and state Congress President D K Shivakumar has fulfilled one of his childhood dreams by visiting the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, the UNESCO World Heritage Site where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment.

Sharing the experience on social media, Shivakumar wrote, “In the shadow of the Bodhi tree… Blessed to visit the sacred Mahabodhi Temple. Since my younger days I had dreamt of coming here, and that dream has now found its meaning.”

The CM described the visit as spiritually transformative, adding that standing in the temple complex filled him with a deep sense of fulfilment and strengthened his faith in the timeless values of compassion, harmony, and inner peace.
“The calm and oneness of the bells and the awakening of the enlightenment tree have made it one of the most special days of my life. I’ll always cherish this sacred experience,” he said.
