A circular issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had directed all officials of the state government who visited foreign nations in their official capacities between August 2024 and the end of July 2025 to submit study reports consisting of their findings from the trips and recommendations to the Government.
However, the Government has found that many officials who travelled abroad failed to submit the reports about their trips. “In the coming days, permission for official foreign trips will be considered only if they compulsorily submit the study and implementation reports” of the previous tours, the circular said.
The move is being seen as an attempt to cut down on expenses incurred by the cash-strapped state government.
