The struggle to preserve the memorial for Dr. Vishnuvardhan has been ongoing for years, with several protests, efforts, and negotiation meetings taking place. However, a resolution is yet to be reached. Even during the 75th Amrit Mahotsava this year, there was no suitable venue to celebrate Dr. Vishnuvardhan’s birthday, which fans considered unfortunate.
In response, fans of Dr. Vishnuvardhan have decided to establish the Dr. Vishnuvardhan Fan Arena. This will be the first fan-built arena in the country dedicated to an artist. Kichcha Sudeepa and Ashok Kheny have extended their support, along with Karnataka Rakshana Vedike leader Narayanagowda, NICE company’s M. Rudresh, and thousands of fans from across the state.

The blueprint of the Fan Arena was released today at the Kannada Film Artistes’ Association. The theme of the arena is “Knowledge, Meditation, and Vision.” It will feature a 25-foot statue of Dr. Vishnuvardhan, a meditation hall, and a large library. The meditation hall is designed so that at exactly 2 p.m. every day, sunlight will fall directly on the “Amrutha Shile” (memorial stone) of Dr. Vishnuvardhan. The design also includes a dedicated photo gallery and arrangements for a daily laser show at 6:30 p.m.
Speaking at the blueprint release, Veerakaputra Srinivas stated that efforts are being made to complete the project within one year. However, details of the land have not been disclosed. He explained that since controversies often arise regarding Vishnuvardhan’s memorial, the land details will be revealed only after confirmation. The expenses and financial management of the project will be overseen under the leadership of a retired judge, it was announced.
