Subramanya, popularly known as Ambi Subbanna, who has been a devoted fan of Ambareesh for the past 30 years, has directed a new film launching his son as the hero. The film has been titled “Gajendra C/O Doddarasinakere” and was shot in Ambareesh’s hometown, Doddarasinakere.
The story is set in a village where the local Gowda lends money to innocent villagers and seizes their property when they fail to repay. His son is a rowdy who harasses village women, while his daughter too is shown as troublesome. Due to Gowda’s fear, the mother sends her son to the city, but later recalls him at the villagers’ request.
The film’s shooting and post-production work have been completed, and it is now in the censor stage. The makers have planned to release it in November.
Belonging to the love-cum-action-comedy genre, the film stars Abhishek Subbanna in the lead role, with Vedha and Nireeksha as the female leads. Shooting took place around Mandya and Doddarasinakere. The film features five songs, with music by Manorav (Mysore) and cinematography by Raul Shekhar.
Produced under Kamalamma Combines, Subramanya himself has written the story, directed, and produced the film. The film has four action sequences composed by Vinay Kumar. Dialogues are by Kishore Raj, choreography by Mahendra, and lyrics by Babu Prakash, James, and Subramanya.
The cast includes Abhishek Subbanna, Vedha, Nireeksha, Vinay Subbanna, Thimmaraju, Sribhairavi Amma, Santosh, Gold Suresh, Mahadevu, Shivanna, Ananthu, Rajesh Sunil, Manjula Rudregowda, Kumar, Lata Shekhari, Trisha, and Paramashiva, among others.
