The Gurugram-based tire manufacturer outbid competitors in a closely contested bidding process. Canva offered ₹544 crore, while JK Cement quoted ₹477 crore. However, Apollo Tyres held its ground until the end, clinching the sponsorship rights with its record-breaking bid.
This deal works out to an average of ₹4.77 crore per match
Apollo Tyres, which operates in over 100 countries, expressed delight at associating with Team India, calling it a proud moment for the company’s global brand presence. Industry insiders note that the new deal works out to an average of ₹4.77 crore per match, higher than the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) earlier rates of ₹3.5 crore for bilateral matches and ₹1.5 crore for ICC events.
The sponsorship comes at a crucial time, as Team India was playing without a jersey sponsor in the ongoing Asia Cup in the UAE after Dream11 withdrew from its contract. With this fresh deal, Apollo Tyres will now replace Dream11 as the front-of-jersey sponsor, starting from India’s upcoming series.
The agreement not only strengthens Apollo’s brand visibility but also brings a much-needed commercial boost for BCCI ahead of a busy cricket calendar.
