The horror genre film ‘Daiji’ teaser was released on gentleman hero and director Ramesh Aravind’s 61st birthday on September 10 at Hyde Park Hotel situated in Sadashivanagara, Bengaluru.
This horror-genre film sparks curiosity right from the teaser. Celebrated actor Ramesh Aravind, who has won hearts with his remarkable performances, is in the midst of his birthday celebrations. On this occasion, the teaser of ‘Daiji’, a film in which he plays a lead role, was released. By unveiling the teaser, the ‘Daiji’ team extended their birthday wishes to their hero. The teaser has been receiving an overwhelming response and is being widely viewed.
Wishing Ramesh Aravind on his birthday, producer Ravi Kashyap (came from USA to this event) said, ten years ago, I had shared this story idea with director Akash Srivatsa. Now the time has come. This film is based on a real incident I witnessed abroad. I am grateful to the technicians and artists who brought it to life exactly as I had imagined. ‘Daiji’ has been made on par with any Hollywood film. We will soon bring it before audience mentioned Ravi Kashyap.
Director Akash Srivatsa addressing on this occasion said numerology connects me, the number three, and this film. This is the third film I’ve directed with Ramesh Aravind in the lead. It’s also the third film with actress Radhika Narayan. Even with the producer, it’s our third project together (including a short film). I can give many examples of the number three connection. The producer narrated a real-life incident he had witnessed abroad, which inspired ‘Daiji’. When I felt Ramesh Aravind was the right fit for this story and narrated it to him, he happily agreed to act in it. He plays the role of Surya. Radhika Narayan plays Bhoomi, while actor Diganth appears as Gagan, Surya’s younger brother. ‘Daiji’ means ‘God of Spirits.’ The teaser has been released today, the trailer will follow soon, and the film will hit screens by the end of this year or early next year.
There’s a saying – Birth and death are the two ends of life. But what lies in between? Love! What if death is not the end? Beyond it exist a dark force. This force carries away love. This is what we generally see in horror films. But director Akash Srivatsa has not made a regular horror movie. I have watched many horror films, but never such a story. He has done something unique. I have worked with renowned director Balachander in ten films, and I see the same caliber in Srivatsa— I look forward to working with him in many more. Words will fall short to describe producer Ravi Kashyap’s passion for cinema. Radhika Narayan is truly a great actress. I also love Diganth’s charm. In this film, I have also acted alongside well-known international artists. I am eagerly waiting to see ‘Daiji’ on the big screen soon,” said Ramesh Aravind.
Actress Radhika Narayan confirmed she is playing Bhoomi, while Diganth revealed he portrays Gagan. Other cast members like B.M. Giriraj, writer Abhijith, and casting director Sunayana Suresh also shared their thoughts on ‘Daiji’.
The film has cinematography by Shreesha Kuduvalli, director Akash Srivatsa has done the editing while background music is done by Judah Sandy.
