Malahide will have the eyes of the cricket world on it next week as Ireland and England prepare to meet in a historic three-match T20I series, running from Wednesday 17 to Sunday 21 September.
It will be the first time the two nations contest a full T20 series on Irish soil, and excitement is already building for what promises to be a memorable week of cricket.
For Ireland, captain Paul Stirling leads a squad balancing experience and fresh opportunity. With key seamers Mark Adair, Josh Little, and Fionn Hand sidelined through injury, the bowling attack will need new leaders to step forward.
One of the most intriguing stories is the maiden call-up of Ben Calitz, the 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman recently arrived from Canada. His debut could provide the spark Ireland need as they continue building towards the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Across the boundary, England have made headlines by appointing 21-year-old Jacob Bethell as captain, making him the youngest player ever to lead England’s men in international cricket. The visitors are resting many of their senior stars, but the trip to Dublin offers a perfect proving ground for a talented new generation eager to make their mark.
The series will unfold against the scenic backdrop of Malahide Castle, with additional tiered stands already in place and likely to be filled.
And for those in the hospitality suites, there will be something special off the pitch as well. Rob Hartnett of Sport for Business will be hosting Pavilion Conversations, bringing together cricketing figures and other sporting celebrities to add insight, humour, and star power to the occasion.
Sport for Business members also have an extra reason to look forward to the week. A competition is open to win two pairs of tickets for the final T20I on Sunday, 21 September. To enter, members must email rob@sportforbusiness.com, explaining why they would like to attend. The most compelling entries will secure their place at Malahide for the series finale.
