Based on the concept “What you hear may be false, what you see may be false, but the truth is realized only when you pause and think”, the film Usiru is ready for release. Produced by Lakshmi Harish under the banner of RSP Productions, the suspense thriller is hitting theaters across Karnataka on the 29th of this month.

The trailer of Usiru was released by industrialists Sudhir Anand and Ram Santani, who wished the team success. The film stars Tilak Shekar and Priya Hegde in lead roles. The story, screenplay, and direction are by Panem Prabhakar. Music is composed by R.S. Ganesh Narayanan, while Bhairavaram has penned dialogues and lyrics. Co-producer Harish also appears in a cameo role.
The story revolves around how a police officer protects his wife when her life is endangered by an unknown assailant. Director Prabhakar has presented this narrative in a gripping manner. The film was shot extensively in Bengaluru, Madikeri, Chikkamagaluru, and Mudigere.
Speaking at the event, producer Lakshmi Harish said: “The film is ready, but it is the media that takes it to the audience. As a woman, I am stepping into cinema for the first time as a producer. I’m not alone—there are many women with me. If this film wins, we all win. We have given our 100% effort. When Prabhakar narrated the story, I instantly liked it. Now we are ready to present it to the audience. Producer Lakshmi Harish thanked senior PRO Nagendra for his strong support and he is like PT Master in our team she said.
Director Prabhakar shared: “This is my debut film as a director. With passion, we built a strong team and made this film on a large scale. In Usiru, the content itself is the hero. The movie explores love, friendship, and deep emotions, giving importance to every character. If the trailer looks so good, it’s because of my team. On screen, you will find out why the numbers 07.08.09 are significant.” Asked on the relevance of a traditional program and item song with alcohol director Prabhakar said you get the answer in the theaters for it.
Lead actor Tilak Shekar added: “I play an investigation officer in this film. I’ve never come across such a concept before. When the director first narrated the story, I felt the title didn’t quite fit. But as shooting progressed, everything became clear. This isn’t just a murder mystery—there are multiple layers. The film has reached this stage only because of the relentless efforts of our producers. There are several interesting elements in it.”
Actress Priya Hegde said: “When I first heard the title Usiru (Breath), I thought it must be a love story. But my role has multiple shades and adds a twist to the storyline. It’s a pleasure to work with a woman producer.”
Music director R.S. Ganesh Narayanan remarked in his first film ‘Heart Beats’ 25 years he scored music and now Usiru (also meaning heart beats) I enjoyed working as music director. “All the songs are situational. Lyricist Bhairava Ram has written beautifully, and the songs have turned out really well. Each character has been given a unique theme.” We have done songs for the situations he added. The song Ninagaagi Naanu…is an experimental one mentioned lyricist Bhairava Ram.
Actors Santosh Nandivada, Apoorva Nagaraju, Arun (villain), and lyricist-dialogue writer Bhairavaram were present at the media meet. Shalini Arts headed by Jack Manjunath is distributing the film. Murali Krishna of Shalini Arts stated that the film will be released in over 40 plus theaters in the first week on August 29.
