ked the acting debut of popular TV personality-turned-hero Munikrishna, the actor is now ready with his second venture as both hero and producer. His upcoming film, titled “Muruga Son of Kaanoonu”, is produced under his A.S.A. Productions banner and directed by Vijay Praveen.
The audio launch of the film was held in grand style at Renukamba Studio, Bengaluru, with MLA Krishna Naik (Huvina Hadagali) releasing the album and extending his best wishes.
The film stars Munikrishna, Mamatha Rawat, Chirashree Anchan, Shobh Raj, Thriller Manju, Umesh, Vinay Prasad, Huli Karthik, and Chandra Prabha, among others. Interestingly, this is said to be the last film for which the late Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar personally extended his wishes.
The plot revolves around a ruthless villain who, after acquiring land, gradually takes control of an entire village. In the process, he also gets Muruga’s father killed. A law graduate, Muruga then takes it upon himself to fight back legally to reclaim his land and safeguard the village.
The film was shot over 62 days in and around Anekal, Malpe, and Bengaluru. Speaking at the event, producer-actor Munikrishna expressed confidence in the outcome and thanked the team for their hard work.
Heroine Mamatha Rawat said I received this film offer just 15 days after my marriage. At one stage, I almost considered walking away, but I stayed on and completed the shoot. Playing a village girl was a long-time dream of mine, and this role made it come true.
Veteran actor Umesh expressed gratitude to Munikrishna for offering him a role, while action director Thriller Manju and co-action director Kaurava Venkatesh appreciated the songs and music, saying they have turned out well and the film will surely impress audiences.
The film’s distributors confirmed that Muruga S/o Kaanoonu will be released across Karnataka on August 29, with special focus on single-screen theatres, including a prominent release at Gandhinagar Theatre.
