A new QR code-based system now allows cybercrime victims in Bengaluru to file complaints online, track cases, and access vital information instantly.
Bengaluru has introduced a QR code-enabled system that lets victims of cybercrime raise complaints with just a click. Instead of visiting a police station, citizens can scan the code, submit details online, and access essential information instantly.

The initiative works on the principle of “ACE” – Act, Complaint, Evidence. It encourages people to act quickly, file complaints at the earliest, and upload supporting details for faster response. While formal registration with documents still requires a visit to the station, the system greatly simplifies the initial reporting process.

The platform provides important resources in English and Kannada, including contact details of stations, dos and don’ts of cyber safety, and links to directly report issues like hacked social media accounts. Users can also track the status of their cases online, ensuring transparency and accountability.
The QR code feature is expected to expand to other police stations, giving citizens fingertip access to jurisdictional details, complaint filing, and case updates. The move is designed to save time, reduce hassle, and make Bengaluru’s cybercrime response more citizen-friendly.
