Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has levelled explosive allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission of India, accusing them of orchestrating large-scale voter fraud that, he claims, helped Prime Minister Narendra Modi ascend to power. Speaking at a public address in Bengaluru, Gandhi cited evidence of manipulation across several states, including Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.

Electronic Data Stolen, Votes Manipulated
Rahul Gandhi alleged that over 32,000 cases of irregularities were found in Form 6—the document used for registering new voters. He claimed that data meant for new voters had been illegally assigned to elderly citizens aged 70 to 90 years. “In this model, the BJP and the Election Commission have stolen votes,” Gandhi asserted. He further alleged that a single voter had cast multiple votes across several constituencies and booths in different states, including Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. “If we get access to electronic voting data, we will prove that the Prime Minister rose to power through fraudulent votes,” Gandhi stated.
Massive Fraud in Bengaluru’s Mahadevpura Constituency
Highlighting specific examples, Gandhi said that 1.25 lakh votes were allegedly stolen out of 6.5 lakh total votes in the Mahadevapura constituency. “One in every six votes was stolen. Voters have cast ballots at four to five booths each,” he said, claiming there are over 40,000 fake entries on the voter list.
He also described shocking discoveries, such as 50 to 80 registered voters listed under a single residential address. Upon inspection, he said the locations were either uninhabited or associated with BJP leaders.
Election Commission Accused of Bias
Gandhi criticized the Election Commission of India for its inaction and alleged collusion with the BJP. “When we began asking questions on their website, they banned it,” he claimed, accusing the Commission of stifling public scrutiny and being partial to the ruling party.
He demanded full transparency from the Election Commission, including the release of video footage from polling booths, vote counting procedures, and access to all digital records.
You Cannot Succeed by Attacking the Constitution
As the Leader of the Opposition, Gandhi issued a stern warning: “You cannot attack the Constitution and succeed every time. We will catch those responsible. There are many behind me.” He said it took six months to gather the incriminating data in Karnataka alone and called for nationwide investigation.
Gandhi concluded by urging the Election Commission to act responsibly and immediately disclose the requested voter data to ensure democratic integrity.
