In a grand celebration marking its 10th anniversary, Prism Recording Studios and Prism Foundation have inaugurated a brand-new, state-of-the-art office and recording studio on West of Chord Road, Bengaluru. The inauguration ceremony was held on Thursday evening and was graced by former minister and MLA Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan, who officially launched the new facility.
Established in 2014 within the MS Ramaiah University campus Prism Recording Studios and Prism Foundation was evolved with a vision to enrich the music and cultural landscape of India. Ram serves as the Founder and Chairman of the organization, with acclaimed music composer Mahesh Mahadev as the Managing Director. Renowned playback singer Dr. Priyadarshini, a co-founder, also serves as a Managing Director.
In the same year, music director Mahesh Mahadev also launched PM Audios & Entertainments, with Dr. Priyadarshini leading it as Managing Director. Over the past decade, Prism has grown into a creative hub nurturing talent, promoting cultural values, and contributing significantly to the Indian music industry.
Prism Foundation has emerged with a mission to contribute meaningfully to the field of music, representing values of art, culture, and tradition. Music holds immense power—it transcends language and borders. It even has therapeutic value, with instances of surgeries being performed without anesthesia while music played in the background. Music helps shape personality, and it uplifts both joy and sorrow. I encourage Mahesh Mahadev and Dr. Priyadarshini to continue mentoring future talents in the same spirit stated Dr Ashwathnarayan.
Popular actor Dharma said Mahesh and Priyadarshini have consistently excelled in the field of music. Now, they’ve established an impressive recording studio. The film industry must take full advantage of this facility. In fact, we’ve already recorded one of our movies soundtracks right here he mentioned.
Both Mahesh Mahadev and Dr. Priyadarshini are celebrated contributors to Indian music. Mahesh Mahadev has composed music for hundreds of songs across 19 languages including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Hindi, and Urdu. Dr. Priyadarshini, a versatile playback singer, has lent her voice to songs alongside legends like S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, Hariharan, Sonu Nigam, Madhu Balakrishnan, and Rajesh Krishnan, among others.
Dr Priyadarshini holds the unique distinction of being the first playback singer in India to receive a PhD in music from Mysore University, having also completed her postgraduate studies in Karnataka classical music.
Her achievements have been recognized both nationally and internationally, with accolades such as: Gaana Kalasaraswati Award, Best Playback Singer Award, Silver Screen Women Achiever Award, Puneeth Rajkumar Rajarathna Award and International recognition from Atlanta, USA.
As Prism Recording Studios embarks on this new chapter under one roof, it continues to pave the way for innovation in music, offering a platform for emerging talents and seasoned professionals alike.
