It is a great fortune for actor Yogi of over 25 films. Yogi as an actor picked the character name Loose Madha after huge success of ‘Dhuniya’ in 2007. He scaled heights and one of his 25 films is also titled as ‘Yogi’. Now the character name of his ‘Loose Madha’ is the title of a new Kannada film. Dr Rajakumar had the privilege when Mayor Muthanna was made. His original name was Muthuraj, later Mr Rajakumar was one of the titles, super star Upendra was blessed with his name as title for his film ‘Upendra’ and so is the nickname of ‘Appu’ power star Puneeth Rajakumar that turned a mass hit in the opening of his career. There are a few more examples in the Kannada film industry.
A new Kannada film titled “Loose Maada”, set against the backdrop of Karnataka’s coastal region, was officially launched with a traditional muhurtha ceremony at the sacred Bande Mahakali Temple. The film features popular actor Loose Maada Yogesh in the lead role.
Produced under the banner of Janaki Combines, the film is being bankrolled by Dharmendra and directed by Ranjith Kumar Gowda. At the muhurtha event, Yogesh’s father and veteran producer T.P. Siddaraju gave the first clap, marking the beginning of the first scene. Producer Dharmendra operated the camera for the first shot. Speaking to the media, producer Dharmendra shared, “I’m originally from Mangaluru and work as a contractor. The film industry is new to me. Some of my friends encouraged me to produce this film. I liked the story narrated by the director and I’m a fan of Loose Maada Yogesh. I’m happy to have him as our lead. I thank everyone who attended the launch and request your support for our film.”
Director Ranjith Kumar Gowda said, Loose Maada is my third directorial. The film carries the subtitle ‘The Wolf’ and is set in coastal Karnataka. The shooting will take place in Udupi, Suratkal, and Mangaluru, starting from August 25. The protagonist’s character is like a wolf—fierce, independent, and fearless. This role will be different from any of Yogesh’s previous performances. Kishore also plays a key role in the film, along with a talented supporting cast mentioned the director.
Yogesh, best known for his breakthrough role as Loose Maada in the blockbuster film Duniya, addressed the media, saying, “Several producers had previously approached me to make a film titled ‘Loose Maada,’ but I had declined. However, this script perfectly fits the title. There’s no connection between my role in Duniya and the character in this film. Our goal is to give audiences a fresh and entertaining experience. We have a fantastic team.”
Veteran actors Kishore, Adi Lokesh, Achyuth Kumar, and Gopalakrishna Deshpande are also part of the ensemble cast.
The film’s music will be composed by Shashank Sheshagiri, with Pradeep Reddy handling cinematography, Ranjan as editor, Vinod directing the action sequences, and Sachin Poojari choreographing the dance numbers.
