In a major reshuffle, the Karnataka government on Monday transferred 35 IPS officers in the state, including the joint commissioner of police (crime) of Bengaluru city.
Ajay Hilori, Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Eastern Range, Kalaburagi, has been transferred as deputy inspector general of police and joint commissioner of police, crimes, Bengaluru. Hilori, who was named as an accused in a multi-crore I-Money Advisory (IMA) Ponzi scam, will be the chief of the Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB).
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had investigated the Rs 4,000 crore scam and filed a chargesheet naming Hilori as one of the accused in 2020. However, Hilori challenged it in the Karnataka High Court, following which criminal proceedings against him were quashed in August 2023 after he was exonerated in a departmental inquiry.
The incumbent Crime Branch head, Chandragupta, has been posted as inspector general of police, North Eastern Range, Kalaburagi.
Bengaluru Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) M N Anucheth has been posted as deputy inspector general of police, recruitment. Karthik Reddy has been appointed as the joint commissioner of police, traffic, Bengaluru.
Days after forming three additional police divisions for Bengaluru city, the government has appointed Narayana M as the deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Electronics City, Anita Bhimappa Haddannavar as DCP South West, and Nagesh D L as DCP North West.
